Designed by Spyderco co-founder and Blade magazine Hall of Fame® member Sal Glesser, the byrd Gooney is a distinctly different folding knife. Its unusual blade shape blends the key elements of the sheepsfoot, hawkbill, and our Reverse “S” patterns to create an incredibly capable and versatile profile. Full-flat ground for superior edge geometry, the Gooney’s blade is available in 9Cr14MoV stainless steel with a PlainEdge™ cutting edge and 9Cr18MoV stainless steel with a fully serrated SpyderEdge™. Both blade choices are paired with a linerless handle featuring gray, peel-ply-textured G-10 scales and a stout back lock mechanism. To keep the knife poised for immediate access, the handle includes a four-position pocket clip that can be configured for left- or right-side, tip-up or tip-down carry. A generously sized lanyard hole also allows the easy attachment of fobs, lanyards, and safety lines.
