The Native Chief™ Lightweight is 21 percent lighter than its G-10-handled counterpart. Its linerless, injection-molded, fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle also reduces the number of metal parts in the knife and adds the benefit of our high-traction Bi-Directional Texture™ pattern. These features make it an ideal platform for inclusion in Spyderco’s revolutionary Salt® Series of fearlessly corrosion-resistant cutting tools. This Native Chief Lightweight Salt supercharges the design with a blade crafted from Crucible® Industries’ CPM® MagnaCut®—a revolutionary particle metallurgy steel that offers an impressive balance of edge retention, toughness, and extreme corrosion resistance. Full-flat ground for optimal edge geometry and available in both PlainEdge™ and SpyderEdge™ configurations, its blade is supported by a precision-machined back lock mechanism and a high-visibility yellow FRN handle. The handle includes threaded inserts that allow the four-position pocket clip to be mounted on both sides and both ends of the handle to support all possible carry preferences. Like all our Salt Series folders, the handle hardware of this knife is also crafted exclusively from ultra-corrosion-resistant materials.
